Lean Abs

Whatever your reasoning, getting those lean defined abs can be rewarding and the fulfillment of a life-long dream. However, it requires tremendous self-discipline and fortitude.

Nutrition is the key ingredient to defined abs. Here are a few tips to help you get on the right track. The first things to go is obvious - goodies such as burgers, cakes and greasy foods are out. Oil, butter and heavy creams are gone. The removal of these items will have you seeing noticeable changes in the first couple of weeks.

Staple protein sources for lean abs include chicken breast, turkey, egg whites, fish and lean meats. Carbs are derived from rice, beans, potatoes, pasta and greens. Fats are found naturally in these foods. Consuming as much water as possible will help clean out your system and provide you with a feeling of fullness at meal times and in-between. Diet soda, black coffee and tea, are fine in moderation. Condiments used in moderation, such as ketchup, mustard, salsa, and soy sauce, are also ok and allow for creative ways to spice up food.

Your nutrition and, more specifically your protein must remain constant to achieve that defined look. With the proper nutrition, and an increase in not only cardiovascular exercise (at least 40 minutes - 4 times a week), abdominal exercises (crunches every other day), and weight training 4 times a week, you have all the ingredients needed to have the lean abs you have always wanted.
